Sources & method
Where our information comes from, and how we label confidence.
Data sources we ingest
- Countries, codes & flags — the open mledoze/countries dataset.
- Visa rules (to Egypt and for the Egyptian passport) — the Passport Index dataset. Community-maintained; we treat it as indicative and link the official portal to verify.
- Travel advisories / risk levels — travel-advisory.info, which aggregates official government advisories (FCDO, US State Department and others).
- Emergency numbers — widely-published references, marked for review.
- Health guidance — WHO, CDC and NHS Fit for Travel (linked, not copied).
Source hierarchy
Tier 1: official government portals, embassies, ministries of foreign affairs and health, WHO, CDC, NHS. Tier 2: airlines, reputable insurers, recognised travel clinics, government advisory pages. We prefer Tier 1 and always link you to it to confirm.
Confidence & review status
Each record shows a confidence level (high/medium/low) and a review status. Automatically-ingested data starts at “needs review” until confirmed. We show the date we last fetched each fact.
