Generally allowed (personal use)
- Personal effects and a reasonable quantity of tobacco and alcohol within duty-free limits.
- Cameras, laptops and phones for personal use.
Declare or restricted
- Large amounts of cash — currency declaration rules apply on entry and exit.
- Drones are frequently restricted and may be confiscated — check before you fly with one.
- Certain medicines — carry a prescription and keep them in original packaging.
Antiquities
It is illegal to take genuine antiquities out of Egypt. Buy only clearly-marked reproductions with receipts.
